Students must understand the importance of First- aid. The timely decision and action can save an ill or an injured person. First- aid is the immediate and temporary care given to the victim of an accident or sudden illness. The main purpose of First- aid is to preserve life, assist recovery and prevent aggravation of the condition until the availability of a doctor, or during transport to a casualty, home or hospital.

The Programmes at “First-aid Development and Research” will mould the students to realize their potential and make them ready for future world.

FIRST- AID PROGRAMME SHOULD BE ORGANIZED FOR THE STUDENTS WITH FOCUS ON:
• FROM CRISIS TO CURE
• HEALTH IS A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT
• PRIORITY OF TREATMENT BY FIRST- AIDER IN CASE OF ACCIDENTS
• EXAMINATION AND EVALUATION
• CARDIO PULMONARY RESUSCITATION
• CONTROL BLEEDING
• SPECIAL CARE OF SHOCK AND UNCONSCIOUS CASES
• FRACTURE (IMMOBILISATION)
• BURN-COVER WITH CLEAR WASHED/DRESSING
• EYE, NOSE , EAR INJURIES
• MULTIPLE SUPERFICIAL INJURIES AND DRESSING
• TRANSPORTATION OF VICTIM

BASIC FIRST AID

Every year many accidents occur. With some care they can be prevented Do not move the casualty unnecessarily. Keep the person warm. See if airways are clear, that he/ she is breathing and the blood circulation in patient.

1. RESPIRATION

If it is falling give artificial respiration – MOUTH to MOUTH or MOUTH to NOSE

2. BLEEDING

Arrest the bleeding and protect the wound. Apply direct or indirect pressure. Cover with a dressing; apply a pad and firm bandage. Elevate the wounded part above the level of heart to STOP BLEEDING

3. FRACTURES

IMMOBUSE the fractured part with a well padded stiff support reaching the joints on either side. Apply bandages on either side of the site and at the joints on either side with support.

4. BURNS AND SCALDS

A burn is caused by dry heat and a scald by moist heat like steam, very hot water or oil. IMMEDIATELY cool the area with cold water- for 15 mins. till pain subsides Do NOT break blisters or apply anything on the burns. Cover with a sterile or clean cloth, pad and bandage. Give fluids.

5. NOSE BLEEDING

Sit him/ her up facing the breeze with the head slightly forward. Ask him to breathe through the mouth and NOT to blow his nose. Apply a cold compress over the nose. The soft part of the nose may be pinched close with the fingers for 10 mins. Cold application on the back of the neck and forehead may help.

6. BEE STING

Do not press the area (of the sting). Use forceps and remove the sting. Apply cold or weak ammonia

7. ANIMAL B ITES

Wash with soap and plenty of water. Loose bandage may be applied. Get quick medical aid.

8. SNAKE BITES

Keep patient calm. Wash with plenty of water and soap. DO NOT RUB the site of bite . First apply a constrictive bandage above the site. (Not to be applied continuously for more than 20 mins.) Do not incise or attempt to suck the wound. Get aid quickly. Try to identify the snake.

9. FAINTING

Lay him down and loosen the clothing around chest and waist. Turn head to one side. The legs may be raised a little. DO NOT attempt to give any solids or liquids. On recovery, a small quantity of a drink may be given and he may be allowed to sit up and move after rest.

10. GENERAL

If you are in doubt of the treatment DO NOT DO anything. You may do more harm.

MAIN STREAMING HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION .

Main streaming Health & Physical Education (HPE) is an important program of CBSE to bring awareness on health & fitness and to inculcate among students , the desired habits & attitudes to raise health status.

With above objection in mind, CBSE in consultation with Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and Ministry of Sports , Government of India has attempted to integrate Health & Education across secondary and senior secondary levels.

Target Point: To bring awareness in Society about safety concern, reactions to different types of dangers and to give first aid during emergencies.

Indian Institute of Health Education and Training is extending support to Educate Bhaarath in organizing First-aid awareness programmes among the students of CBSE and Affiliated Institutions

INDIAN SCHOOL STUDENTS WELFARE SOCIETY (ISSWS)

Indian School Students Welfare Society (ISSWS) is extending support to Educate Bhaarath for main streaming health and education in CBSE Schools. This will raise the health status of the School children.

FIRST-AID PROGRAMME (FAP)

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF FIRST –AID AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT (IIFA), under the management of All India Institute of Integrated Medicine & Research (AIIIMR), is offering Informal Health Education. Assisted by Continuing Education Scheme (CES) - Education India (A National project of CCAP) in First-aid Techniques for the Students of classes V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, NCC, Scouts & Guides NSS etc.

PROCEDURE:
• Principal shall appoint a Faculty member as the Co-ordinator for the First- aid program.
• The Co-ordinator shall submit the Online Registration Form.
• Scanned copy of list of registered students will be sent by the Co-ordinator to support@educatebhaarath.com

Scanned copy with the following details should be sent as an Attachment to support@educatebhaarath.com from the Registered e-mail of the Co-ordinator (submitted in the Online Registration Form) :

List of Names of the enrolled students (payment of Rs. Hundred) with e-mails and Contact Numbers. List of Names of the Parents ( if enrolled ) along with their Whatsapp numbers. (E-book on First- aid Certificate with QR Code for participation in First- aid awareness programme by Indian Institute of First- aid and Basic Emergency care & Indian Institute of First- aid and Disaster Reduction will be sent to the e-mails of the students submitted by the Co-ordinator as scanned copy.)

PAYMENT OFFLINE:

The school Students can also submit Rs.100/-(Hundred only) along with their personal details. Educate Bhaarath authorized persons will collect the bulk amount from the Co-ordinator appointed by the Principal of the school. After receiving payment from the students and their details, Educate Bhaarath will enroll the students in the First Aid Club in the particular Charter, in India.

First aid PPts will be sent to the Whatsapp of Parents / School students, after completion of Registration by the School students.
